Membership
Membership in the local unit of Asheville City/Buncombe Retired School
Personnel is important for all educational retirees to help strengthen
the voice that retired school personnel have in our state. By joining
NCRSP you become a member of NCAE. You also join NEA
for membership benefits.
Membership in these organizations includes newsletters and other benefits that apply throughout the enrollment year.
You can enroll throughout the year, although membership begins in September and October.
We Need You!
Qualifications for membership in NCRSP are as follows:
employed for at least five (5) years in a position that met the qualifications for NEA active membership but are no longer employed or has retired.
in addition, you must be at least 45 years old or be eligible to receive a pension from the State Retirement System.
How To Join
Cash Payment Form
If you would like to pay by check or money order for the year's membership, please click on the seal and print the Local NCRSP Cash Payment Form (MS Word Document.) Please complete this form and mail to the Local NCRSP Treasurer, Susan Laney. See her mailing address on the form. A receipt will be mailed to you along with your NCAE membership card.
Cash Pay members are entitled to a $2,500 Accidental Death and dismemberment Benefit through Horace Mann.

Payroll Deduction Form
It costs so little to maintain your membership in NCRSP by enrolling in the monthly deduction plan. You will continue to be a member of NCAE, in the Retirement Division. It's convenient to have a small monthly dues amount withdrawn from your check. Your membership card is mailed to you now, if you are on the Payroll Deduction Plan, and allows you to benefit from reduced costs at many businesses and hotels.
You also receive a $7,500 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit through Horace Mann.

NEA-R enrollment adds benefits to your membership through the national organization. NCRSP is aligned with NEA as well as NRTA, a division of AARP.
